  Michael Connolly, Founder
Mike Connolly has nearly 40 years experience in the landscape management industry having founded the company in 1972. During the 1980's, Mike grew the company substantially. During this time, he managed multiple crews while maintaining a very hands-on approach with the business. Rarely investing in sales or marketing, the company's new business has been generated almost entirely by word of mouth referrals from existing customers. Many of these customers have been with the firm for decades.

Mike's experience includes all aspects of landscape management with particular expertise in the area of turf management and maintenance as well as landscape design and installation. In 1964 Mike immigrated to the United States from Milltown, County Galway, Ireland where he grew up the son of a farmer. Mike is married to Mary Connolly with whom he has three sons Desmond, Jarlath and Aidan.

  Brad Howe, Board Member
Bradlee T. Howe is President of Financial Managers Trust, a Massachusetts business trust which he established in 1983. The Company provides part-time financial management to a number of rapidly-growing smaller companies, primarily in southern New England. Combining strategic planning with an operating emphasis on cash management, budgeting, cash flow projection, and administrative systems, Howe and his three associates monitor and control the week-to-week funds flow of a dozen client companies through a series of reports and analytical techniques developed by Howe and a succession of associates during the past 19 years.

Financial Managers' client relationships typically are ongoing, extending from several months to several years, usually on a monthly retainer basis. Since the inception of the Company, Howe has been involved in the provision of more than $250,000,000 in equity and debt for working capital and equipment financing for more than 150 growing client companies. His participation as an active senior manager of all these varied firms has provided him with a breadth of experience that is uncommon among small company managers. As a result, his expertise encompasses organizational issues from competitve analysis to management selection and development to executive coaching.

Prior to 1983 Howe had worked with a predecessor company for two years as Vice President before purchasing the client base. As a time-shared manager, Howe also served as the Editor and Publisher of a weekly Cambridge-based newspaper which he helped to establish in 1981. During the same period, he operated simultaneously as the marketing manager of a $1MM language translation company and as CFO of a somewhat smaller film production company.

A graduate of both the Harvard Business School and Harvard College, Howe served twelve years in the Harvard administration. In the mid-70s, he was the Associate Director of Admissions, Director of Student Employment, and General Manager of Harvard Student Agencies, Inc. In this last capacity, he effected the turn-around of a $1MM+ student-run small business organization which had recorded losses in 12 of the 15 years prior to his management. Since achieving profitability, the company has generated a surplus in all but four years. Howe has continued to serve as a Director of the organization for the past 30 years and, most recently, as Chairman of the Management Committe.

In 1975, Howe became the Associate Dean for External Affairs for the Harvard Business School, responsible for the school's primary relationships with its corporate and alumni constituency around the world. During his three-year service as overseer of the School's fund-raising process, contributions to the annual fund tripled, while corporate donations rose by 50%.

Howe and his wife, Anne, are the parents of five. Both natives of Melrose, MA, they lived in Lexington from 1981 until 1998, when they moved to Waltham. In addition to his strong family interests, Howe has been the Moderator of the Follen Community Church in Lexington, where he has previously served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Capital Fund Chairman and Trustee. Howe serves as well as a director of SBANE, the Smaller Business Association of New England, and as President of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston.
